Objective
I wanted to see which method of sharing my Medium blog posts leads to more engagement: posting links on social media or sending them directly via email to peers.
Method
I shared one article via social media (Instagram, Heart of Hopes, and Money Pilots) and the same article via email to a small group of peers. I tracked clicks, reads, and responses over one week to see which method generated more interaction.
Outcome
Email sharing got more direct clicks and replies, while social media posts had higher impressions but fewer actual reads. Social media engagement was minimal without active promotion.
Insight & Adjustment
I learned that direct, targeted sharing via email is more effective for small, engaged audiences, while social media alone is not enough to drive reads. In the future, I’ll combine social media promotion with personal outreach to maximize engagement.
